⚡ How to use Edges

What's an edge?

An edge is a rule — or a stack of rules — that finds horses on today's card. Things like "dropping in class", "back to a shorter trip", "well-handicapped", "sire bred for today's going". They're angles for finding horses worth a closer look — not tips.

Build one

On the Edges page tap + New edge, give it a name, then pick a field from the grouped list — 40+ fields across Form, Class, Trip, Going, Pedigree, Connections (trainer/jockey), Sectionals (RaceIQ), Market and Ratings. Choose an operator (≥, ≤, is…) and set a value.

Tap + Add condition to stack more, and choose Match ALL (every rule must hold — AND) or ANY (any one — OR). A plain-English sentence and a live "matches today" count update as you build.

See the matches

Your active edges run on the Edges page, on the Today page, and inside every racecard's ⚡ Find bar and Edges tab. When several of your edges agree on the same horse, it rises into a stronger tier so the convergence stands out.

Ask "why did it fire?"

Tap Why on any matched horse to see the actual values behind it — the class move, the trip change, the mark, the pedigree read. No black box: you see exactly which of your rules it ticked.

Sort the list

Order the matches by next-off time, odds, or most angles — whichever helps you work the card the way you like.

Save sets

Group edges into named sets — a "Saturday handicaps" set, an "AW sprints" set — and switch between them in a tap. The active set drives Today, the racecards and the Edges page. (Sign in to save sets across devices.)

Morning alerts

Flick the 🔔 on any edge and you'll get a Telegram each morning listing the horses it flagged on today's card, with links straight to those races. Link your Telegram once on the My Stable page. (Free — needs sign-in.)

Near-the-off alerts

Every edge also has an ⏱️ Alert me near the off toggle — a Telegram before each matching horse runs, one message per race, at a lead time you pick per edge (2, 4, 10, 20 or 30 minutes). It's the one to use for anything market-driven: whether a horse is a steamer is unknowable at 9am and obvious just before the off. Morning and near-the-off are independent, so pick either, both or neither per edge — the 🔔 and ⏱️ buttons beside each edge in My Edges set them separately, and the Alert me on all ticked row switches a whole set at once. This works on the built-in angles too, not just edges you build yourself: they're all in your list already. There's a daily cap so a loose edge can't spam you. The built-in 📋 5-Step Qualifier template turns the racecard's 5-Step Analysis Guide into one of these. It alerts on 4 of the 5 steps rather than all five — across 73 days of replayed cards all five aligned exactly once, so four is the bar that actually fires. The Steps of the 5-Step Guide passed (0–5) field is in the builder if you'd rather set your own bar — and each of the five is also its own condition (Step 1 — AI score, where you set the number yourself, through to Step 5 — Rank check), so you can demand exactly the steps you rate and skip the rest. Note Step 4 reads the live market, so edges using it belong on the near-the-off alert rather than the 09:35 list. As ever: a shortlist to look at, not a recommendation.

Share an edge

Hit 🔗 Share and you get a link that drops the whole edge straight into a mate's list — no rebuilding. Great for swapping angles.
